Start with the job, not the largest kit
Yanhua ACDP is a modular platform. The base unit, dedicated adapter and software authorisation together determine what a configuration can do. A workshop mainly servicing BMW FEM and BDC systems may need a different kit from one replacing transmission controllers across several vehicle brands.
Gather the information needed for verification
Provide the vehicle make, model, year, controller identification and intended task. If you already own ACDP, include its generation and serial number. An engine name or vehicle photograph alone cannot confirm support. A clear photograph of the controller label is often more useful than a broad list of brands.
Separate the starting equipment from expansions
The ACDP-2 base unit is the foundation. Modules extend coverage for particular systems, while adapters provide the physical connection. A digital licence is not a hardware kit. When comparing offers, check whether the base device is included and identify the supplied authorisations.
Advice before ordering
As an authorised Yanhua distributor, Car Diag Croatia helps build a configuration around real workshop tasks. A suitable initial kit covers verified needs and leaves room for later expansion. Before service work, arrange stable power, an original-data backup and the vehicle owner’s permission.
Three questions to narrow the choice
Does your workshop mainly handle keys and immobilisers, engine electronics or transmission controllers? Are you expanding an existing ACDP or buying a complete starting configuration? Do you have the exact controller identification for your first planned job? These answers are more useful than comparing the number of modules in a kit name.
What the base programmer does not automatically include
The official ACDP-2 base specification lists supported EEPROM and CPU families and expansion through other modules. It does not mean that every vehicle system is included. For a specific job, check the base device, appropriate adapter, authorisation and current manufacturer instructions together.
A checklist before requesting a quotation
Record the device and controller identification, required function, existing authorisations and available adapters. Ask for the base unit, hardware contents and digital authorisations to be identified separately in the quotation. This makes the cost of a starting configuration easier to distinguish from the cost of an expansion.
Do I need the largest Yanhua kit immediately?
Not necessarily. Start with confirmed workshop tasks. A broader kit makes sense when its contents match your actual needs, not simply because it contains more items.
