BT50 is a handheld tester for 12 V lead-acid batteries and their starting and charging systems. It uses conductance measurement to assess battery condition. Its role is checking the vehicle's battery-related electrical system, not reading control-unit fault codes through an OBD connection.

Results on the device

The display and buttons allow operation without a phone, and the data review function recalls test information. The device has a 0.6 m cable and reverse-polarity protection. Its 8 to 16 V operating range does not provide support for nominal 24 V batteries.

Choosing and interpreting the test

Before ordering, check that the battery type and ratings fit the supported tests and confirm the package contents. Selecting the correct rating standard and maintaining good clamp contact are important for useful results.
