Battery and system checks

BT100 checks 12 V lead-acid batteries and 12 V starting and charging systems. Its test range is 100 to 2000 CCA. Supported types include flooded, flat-plate or spiral AGM, GEL and EFB batteries; it is not intended for testing 24 V systems.

Results on the device

A backlit 2-inch LCD and three status lights show results directly on the device. Checks cover estimated health and charge, internal resistance, cranking, charging and voltage ripple. CCA describes cold-cranking capability; it is not a measurement of battery capacity in ampere-hours.

Choosing and interpreting the test

Before ordering, check that the battery type and ratings fit the supported tests and confirm the package contents. Selecting the correct rating standard and maintaining good clamp contact are important for useful results.
